【story】
"I will definitely clear up any doubts."
With those words, his friend left, and a week later, his body was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances.
A female college student living in Hirai City, Aichi Prefecture, was murdered by the eldest son of a shrine after being repeatedly stalked. An exclusive scoop article in a local newspaper reveals that the police had delayed accepting the female college student's report of the crime and had gone on a recreational trip in the meantime. Moriguchi Izumi of the Prefectural Police Public Relations and Public Hearing Division suspects that her best friend, newspaper reporter Tsumura Chika, had broken her promise to write the article. Chika tries to prove her innocence, but a week later she is found dead under mysterious circumstances. If only she hadn't suspected him, Chika wouldn't have been killed. Driven by self-blame and regret, Izumi vows to catch the culprit who killed Chika with her own hands.
